Manual Time Clock Error Instructions
If you receive the error '-2147417848(80010108)' when trying to
use the manual time clock program, you have two choices below for repairing the
problem:
Method #1:
The problem is relative to the Calendar OCX not being properly
registered. This can occur with Windows XP when Windows XP Service Pack 1 is not
installed.
Install or Re-install Windows XP Service Pack 1 to resolve this problem
IF METHOD #1 DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM
THEN ON TO METHOD #2 BELOW:
Method # 2:
Click on Start | Run and enter the command
"regsvr32 /u mscal.ocx" and press the OK button.
This should unregister the mscal.ocx. A Message Box comes up saying so.
Do a Start | Search for "mscal.ocx". I believe you will find at least 2. Check
the sizes of these files. The smaller one should probably be in the
c:\Windows\System32 directory. Delete this one -- that is the smaller one. [You
may want to simply rename it to MSCALOLD.OCX or move it onto a floppy so that
you feel comfortable in case something does not go well with this procedure]
When the smaller one is deleted or renamed, you should only have one mscal.ocx
on your system. This file should be copied to c:\windows\system32 or
c:\windows\system [For Windows 95 or 98]
Once the file is copied, run the command
below:
Go to Start | Run and type in "regsvr32 c:\windows\system\mscal.ocx"
[For Windows 95 or 98] (or)
Go to Start | Run and type in "regsvr32
c:\windows\system32\mscal.ocx"
and press the OK button. A Message Box
should display saying that the ocx file has been successfully registered.
